ASAP Alumni win prestigious awards
Two ASAP Alumni won major awards at the 2006 Principal Achievement Awards for Outstanding Leadership.
Valerie Wanza, Principal of Lanier-James Education Center, won the Principal Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership for middle schools. This award, established in 1988, recognizes school administrators for increasing student achievement performance levels, establishing community partnerships and parental involvement, providing assistance for at-risk and special needs students, and developing innovative strategies to positively impact the school and learning environment. Valerie was an original ASAP cohort with Broward schools.
Chip Osborn, Assistant Principal at Charles W. Flanagan High School, won the Outstanding Assistant Principal Achievement Award for high schools. The award was established in 1997 to honor Assistant Principals who have utilized teamwork and leadership skills to increase student performance, promote safe learning environments and establish partnerships with parents and community members. Chip used ASAP via his traditional leadership program with Broward HRD.
Congratulations to both Valerie and Chip on having their hard work recognized!
